This is an Engineer Explorer class that is designed around more advanced topics and exploration of the tool. This course does not teach basic tool operations. We require that students who are not actively using the tool first complete the Allegro PCB Editor course.
The objective of this class is to provide the information, hands-on experience and methodology you require to augment your knowledge of the Allegro PCB Editor tool. After completing the course, you will have a better understanding of the intricacies of the PCB Editor software and be able to optimize your PCB design environment to improve productivity and reduce time to market.
In this course you will learn:
* Productivity Enhancement Features
You will explore parts of the PCB Editor that can be used to increase your usage of the tool with such features as SKILL initialization and using the Extract language. By using these features, you will improve your ability to use the PCB Editor and to respond faster to new requirements.
* Recent Software Features
As new software releases occur, additional functionality is added that is sometimes overlooked. You will explore new commands and functionality such as OpenGL, Design Partitioning, and so on.
* Miscellaneous Topics
Several short topics will be covered for parts of the tool that may be useful but unknown, such as Net Shorting and Journal Replay, among others.

Prerequisites
* The student must be familiar with the Allegro PCB Editor.
Cadence staff is responsible for customer training, many instructors have advanced degrees in either education or engineering as well as practical knowledge of the software and curriculum development. Technical Service Engineers also teach classes and draw on their experience by helping designers in the field.
